Spiritual Prompt
I've seen social media used as a marvelous work more than once, especially when people share testimonies or scripture verses that end up reaching someone who really needed it that day. A friend of mine posted about her faith during a hard time, and the comments section turned into this whole thread of people encouraging each other. That's the kind of thing D&C 4:1–3 talks about, using whatever tools we have to serve others. I want to be someone who uses my own posts to uplift people instead of just adding noise to their feed. Even small things, like sharing something kind or true, can end up mattering more than I realize.

If I had to pick the most powerful social media platform right now, I'd say TikTok, mainly because of how fast content spreads there compared to anywhere else. One video can blow up overnight and completely change how people see a brand, for better or worse. It also reaches such a wide range of ages now, it's not just younger users anymore. Brands that figure out how to use it well end up getting way more engagement than platforms like Facebook or even Instagram. That kind of reach is hard to compete with.

Looking back at some of my own social media posts, I'd definitely be more careful about tone. There were times I posted things quickly without thinking about how they'd come across to someone who didn't know the full context. I've also learned that captions matter way more than I used to think, a good caption can completely change how a post gets received. If I could go back, I'd slow down and actually plan posts instead of just reacting in the moment. It's a small change, but I think it would've saved me from a few awkward posts.

Something I've been thinking about lately is how much branding actually shapes the way I trust a company. I noticed this while working on the Sir Fruit project for class, a brand with personality just sticks in your head more than one that plays it safe. It made me realize that even small brands can compete with big ones if their voice feels real. I think that's something I want to carry into my own writing, being memorable matters just as much as being correct. It's a lesson I didn't expect to get from a class assignment.

This week made me think a lot about how much writing changes depending on who's reading it. A press release needs to sound totally different from a blog post, and a blog post needs to sound different from a text message. I used to think good writing was just good writing, but now I get that the format shapes everything, tone, structure, even sentence length. It's been kind of eye opening to see how much thought actually goes into something that seems simple on the surface. I feel like I'm starting to notice this stuff in everyday writing now not just for class
